ADVANCED BODY CONTOURING

Advanced body contouring surgery is required for patients with a significant amount of excess skin due to dramatic weight loss. This usually includes post-bariatric surgery patients and medical weight loss patients who have experienced more significant amounts of weight loss. Depending on your weight loss, you may find combining multiple surgeries achieve the medical results you need. Safely providing the more complex body contouring procedures which are longer, requires general anesthesia at a hospital.

FREQUENTLY PERFORMED SURGERIES/PROCEDURES

MAJOR PANNICULECTOMY (270-degree circumference)

This procedure is most often required by post-bariatric surgery patients that have lost more than 150 lbs. and have an extreme quantity of excess skin that must be removed. The surgery removes the excess skin and tissue from the front of the abdomen, the side of the abdomen, and around the back of the patient. During major and medium panniculectomy, surgeons will also often tighten underlying tissue. Post-surgery patients typically will stay one to two nights in the hospital.
This procedure is most often required by post-bariatric surgery patients that have lost more than 75 lbs. The surgery removes the excess skin and tissue from the front of the abdomen of the patient. During major and medium panniculectomy, surgeons will also often tighten underlying tissue. Post-surgery patients may require a one night stay one in the hospital.
This procedure is most often required by weight loss medication patients who have lost between 30 to 75 lbs. The surgery removes excess skin and tissue from the front of the abdomen of the patient. Because the complexity of this procedure is less and surgery times are shorter the post-surgery patient may not require an overnight stay in the hospital. If you are someone who has less excess abdominal weight loss but still loose skin, you may be a candidate for minor panniculectomy/tummy tuck [hyperlink].
